BRIDGETOWN, Barbados (CMC):
The Athletics Association of Barbados (AAB) will be sending a record 52 athletes to compete at the 52nd Carifta Games.
It will be the largest team ever to compete at a Games held outside of Barbados, with the highly anticipated competition slated to be held in Trinidad and Tobago from April 19 to 21.
Barbados will be hoping to improve on its performance at last year’s Games in Grenada, where 31 athletes brought home two silver and three bronze medals.
The team will be boosted by the inclusion of four overseas-based athletes in Kadia Rock, Micah Blair, Fynn Armstrong and Mya Rollins.
President of the AAB, Noel Lynch, said with the increased number of athletes selected this time around, the goal was to win at least 40 medals.
