Honours were just about even at close on day one of the third round West Indies four day encounter between Jamaica Scorpions and the Barbados Pride at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown.
At stumps the Pride were 9 without loss replying to 231 all out made by the Scorpions.
Odean Smith 50, led the Scorpions batting, with support from Jeavor Royal 43, Jermaine Blackwood 30 and 29 from Carlos Brown.
Skipper John Campbell made 16 and Kirk McKenzie 19. Chiam Holder claimed 3 for 66 for the Pride while Kemar Roach, Kraigge Brathwaite and Jomel Warrican getting two each.
Play was cut short by rain at Warner Park in Basseterre where Trinidad and Tobago Red Force reached 326 for 3 against the Leeward Islands Hurricanes at the stoppage with unbeaten centuries from Jason Mohammed and Joshua Da Silva.
Mohammed was not out 102 and Da Silva 120, they’ve so far put on 212 for the fourth wicket.
Amir Jangoo as Rhakeem Cornwall ended the day with 2 for 75.
Over at Windsor Park in Dominica the Combined Campuses and College reached 137 for 5 at close against the Windward Islands Volcanoes.
Damel Evelyn is not out 53 while Johann Jeremiah went for 40.
Champions the Guyana Harpy Eagles were 71 for 3 at dinner against the West Indies Academy at Providence.
