MP for South West St. Elizabeth, Floyd Green, believes that the matter of unsettled seats in the JLP ahead of the general election is a reflection of the party’s increasing attractiveness to young people.
He was reacting to questions about the North Central St Andrew constituency, following news that Government Senator, Delano Seiveright, has thrown his hat into the ring.
It’s understood that Seiveright’s announcement sets up the possibility of a high-stakes run-off to select a replacement for outgoing MP Karl Samuda.
This, as Christian Tavares Finson, was reportedly set to be named the party’s standard-bearer in the constituency.
Christian is the son of JLP veteran and Senate President, Tom Tavares Finson.
When pressed about who is being considered for North Central St Andrew, MP Green, did not give a direct response.
But according to him, the JLP has enough talent to secure any seat.

The JLP recently completed candidate selection contests in South Manchester, North West Clarendon and Western Westmoreland.
But a number of other seats remain unsettled just months ahead of the upcoming polls.
