BDF Soldier Dies After Dispute in Belize City

Police in Belize City are investigating the killing of a Belize Defence Force soldier.  Investigators from the Crimes Investigation Branch responded to the hospital where they observed twenty-nine-year-old Raheed Flowers who was critical at the time, and eventually succumbed to the injuries.  Initial police investigations indicate that earlier that night, at around eight-thirty, Flowers was socializing with a neighbor at a residence on Gladden Street when a dispute reportedly broke out between him and a group of men within the same yard.  ACP Hilberto Romero gave the media a briefing on the investigation.

The victim’s family has declined to comment on the matter.
