The Belize Defence Force Youth Cadet Corps in the Toledo District marked the end of its 2025 training program with a Christmas luncheon held at the Toledo Community College auditorium. The event brought together more than thirty cadets between the ages of nine and seventeen from Punta Gorda Town, Columbia Village, and San Antonio Village. Activities began with a church service, followed by the luncheon and a recognition of the cadets’ commitment throughout the year. Second Lieutenant Raymond Nicholas of the BDF Volunteers Spoke to Love’s Senior Correspondent Paul Mahung on the event.
Lieutenant Nicholas also noted that the Youth Cadet Corps serves as a foundation for future service, as cadets who complete the program can later transition into the BDF Volunteers, the Belize Defence Force, or even the Belize Police Department. The Christmas luncheon officially brought the training year to a close, as preparations now begin for the new year.
