Belize Athletes Bring Home 18 Medals From Copa Revolución


Belize’s young athletes delivered an impressive showing at the 9th Copa Revolución Liga Diamante 2025 in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, bringing home 18 medals over the weekend. The delegation performed strongly across all categories, proudly representing Belize on the international stage.  The Female Relay Team won silver, powered by LeAn Seguro, Tridean Martinez, and Tamia Bennett, while the Male Relay Team dominated with a gold medal finish led by Fred Usher Jr., Donovan Grinage Jr., Jalen O’Brien, and Kamron Gentle.  In the U18 division, Kamron Gentle earned double gold in the 100m and 200m, and Tridean Martinez matched the feat in the female category. Tamia Bennett added two more golds in the 400m and long jump.  In the Open Female division, LeAn Seguro secured gold in both the 400m and long jump, while Gina Tejeda captured gold in the shot put and discus.  For the Open Males, Donovan Grinage Jr. won silver in the long jump and bronze in the 200m. Frederick Usher Jr. earned gold in the 200m and silver in the 100m, and Jalen O’Brien added a bronze in the long jump.  The team’s outstanding results placed Belize among the top-performing delegations. The athletes returned home yesterday.
