Belize City Butcher Shot Dead at Workplace

Twenty-seven-year-old Tyrell Robinson was shot and killed at his workplace near the Michael Finnegan Market in Belize City yesterday.  Police say Robinson, a butcher of Bocotora Street, was cleaning Jun’s Meat Shop and preparing to close shortly before five o’clock when a man wearing a full-face helmet approached a small service window.  The man reportedly asked to purchase meat. As Robinson turned to wash his hands, the gunman fired two shots and escaped on a motorcycle.  Despite being injured, Robinson managed to run to a nearby security booth for help. He was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after five-twenty in the evening.  Love News understands that investigators believe the killing may be connected to an internal dispute within the George Street Gang.
