Belize City Man Loses $550 in Alleged Facebook iPhone Scam

In Belize City, police are investigating an alleged Facebook sales scam after a nineteen-year-old man reported losing five hundred and fifty dollars while attempting to purchase an iPhone.  Jason Bernard told police that he contacted a Facebook user operating under the name “Cold heart” after seeing an advertisement for a black iPhone 13, reportedly being sold from Orange Walk.  Bernard alleges that after the payment was made, the seller blocked him on Facebook Messenger. Attempts to contact the individual through another account were unsuccessful. At the time of the police report, Bernard had neither received the phone nor recovered his money.
