Belize District Schools Participate in Brain Awareness Week

Two primary schools in the Belize District, Our Lady of the Way Catholic School in Ladyville and Grace Primary School in Belize City, are participating in the observation of Belize Brain Awareness Week 2026. The initiative is being observed under the theme “Wearing My Brain Like a Crown.” Today, Love News visited Grace Primary School’s lower division campus on Amara Avenue, where Principal Dyann Garnett shared details about the school’s involvement in the week-long activities.

Organizer and founder of the Belize Brain Awareness Society, Kaylia Nunez, spoke with our newsroom on the objectives of the initiative and the activities planned for the participating schools throughout the week.

As part of the opening day activities, which focused on Nutrition Day, Santiago Castillo Ltd partnered with the Belize Brain Awareness Society. Aisha Trapp highlighted the company’s role in supporting the day’s activities, emphasizing the importance of proper nutrition for brain health.

A series of themed activities have been planned for the remainder of the week. Day two will focus on Mental Wellness, followed by Art Day on day three and Literacy Day on day four. The observance will conclude with Energy Day as the final activity. Belize Brain Awareness Week 2026 will run through Sunday, March 22.
