Belize Honors Archbishop Philip Wright

The Anglican Diocese of Belize marked a significant milestone yesterday with a Service of Recognition for The Most Reverend Philip S. Wright, Primate of the Church in the Province of the West Indies.  The ceremony brought together clergy, government officials, and members of the wider community to formally recognize Archbishop Wright’s elevation to the highest office within the Anglican Church in the region.  The event was coordinated with support from the Government of Belize Press Office, ensuring nationwide coverage of what church leaders described as an important and historic occasion for Belize and the wider Anglican community.  During the service, Archbishop Wright delivered a message centered on faith, unity, and service, emphasizing the responsibility of leadership in guiding communities through both challenges and opportunities.

The Service of Recognition forms part of the formal process acknowledging his role as Primate, a position that places him at the helm of Anglican leadership across multiple Caribbean territories.  Church officials say the event not only celebrates Archbishop Wright’s personal achievement, but also highlights Belize’s growing role within regional religious leadership./
