Belize Hosts 2025 Caribbean Elite Road Cycling Championship for the first time

The Cycling Federation of Belize is hosting the 2025 Caribbean elite road cycling championship from October 9th to the 13th where over 50 cyclists from 17 Caribbean countries Are participating. It’s a first time for the federation to be the host of this event, this morning the Cycling Federation of Belize stopped by and this is what they had to say.

Leticia Westby, General Secretary, Cycling Federation of Belize:“There is two parts of it, the elite and we have the juniors.  For us, this is a historic moment for the Cycling Federation.  This is the first time the Federation is hosting a regional event. It’s for all the Caribbean countries that can participate who are members of the Caribbean Cycling Union. Mr. Bonifacio is a part of the body, executive of the Caribbean Cycling Union.  So for us, we have 17 countries, we started out with 19, but now we’re down to 17 countries and 86 riders who will be participating in this event. Both women and men.  We are over 100 participants coming in. In addition to that, as this is a regional game for the Caribbean Cycling Union, we have the executives who are going to be part of this and they’re having their Caribbean Cycling Union Congress. So, all the presidents and the executive of the Caribbean Cycling Union will be meeting here.”

Belize is the defending champion for this regional event.
