Belize’s history and cultural identity were highlighted on Saturday as the country marked the 4th Annual Emancipation Day State Ceremony. The event was held at Government House in Belize City, bringing together government officials, cultural representatives and members of the public to reflect on the journey from slavery to freedom and the impact of African heritage on Belize’s identity.
