The Belize Police Department has received five new pickup trucks as part of the Government’s effort to improve police mobility and strengthen the fight against crime.
The vehicles were handed over on Friday, fulfilling a commitment made by Minister of Home Affairs Julius Espat. Two trucks have been assigned to the Cayo District, two to the Belize District and one to southern Belize. Limited transportation has long been identified as one of the major operational challenges facing the Police Department. The additional vehicles are expected to assist officers in responding more quickly to reports, conducting patrols and carrying out operations in the assigned areas.
