Belize Renews Call to End U.S. Blockade on Cuba

Turning to Cuba, the Prime Minister said the economic blockade and restrictions on fuel have severely damaged the country’s economy. He renewed Belize’s call for the blockade to be lifted and for Cuba to be removed from the United States’ list of state sponsors of terrorism. 

John Briceño, Prime Minister of Belize: “Belize also stands with Cuba. The economic blockade against our sister nation, compounded by restrictions on fuel, has severely damaged the Cuban economy. This crisis is unnecessary and unjustified. Belize renews its call for the lifting of the blockade and for Cuba’s removal from the list of state sponsors of terrorism.”
