Belize Showcases Trade and Investment Opportunities in Washington DC

Belize was recently showcased on an international stage in Washington D.C., as the Belize Trade and Investment Development Service, BELTRAIDE, partnered with the Embassy of Belize in the United States to host the Belize Trade, Investment and Opportunities Showcase during this year’s Passport DC celebrations. The event brought together members of the diplomatic corps, business representatives, investors, members of the Belizean diaspora, and other strategic partners for discussions centered on Belize’s economic opportunities, trade potential, and cultural identity.  Opening remarks were delivered by Belize’s Ambassador to the United States, His Excellency Nestor Mendez, who highlighted the importance of strengthening bilateral ties between Belize and the United States through trade, investment, and cultural engagement.  BELTRAIDE’s Executive Director, Ishmael Quiroz, also addressed attendees, outlining opportunities in sectors such as tourism, agriculture, digital services, sustainable industries, and the blue economy. According to BELTRAIDE, the presentation focused on Belize’s geographic position, its investment climate, and the country’s push toward sustainable and inclusive economic growth.  Guests at the event were also given a preview of Belize’s evolving country brand campaign through a promotional video highlighting the country’s culture, people, and tourism experiences. Cultural performances and networking sessions were also included as part of the evening’s activities.
