Belize Strengthens Ties as Dominican Republic and Nicaragua Envoys Present Credentials

Belize continues to strengthen its diplomatic relationships in the region with the formal reception of two foreign envoys by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Immigration, Francis Fonseca.  Today, His Excellency Flavio Amaury Rondón de Jesús, Ambassador of the Dominican Republic, presented copies of his Letters of Credence during an official courtesy call. Discussions focused on expanding practical cooperation between Belize and the Dominican Republic, particularly in trade, tourism, cultural exchange and broader regional integration initiatives.  In a separate meeting, Belize also welcomed His Excellency Luis Iván Briones González, Non-Resident Ambassador of the Republic of Nicaragua, who likewise presented copies of his Letters of Credence to Minister Fonseca.

During that engagement, both sides reaffirmed the longstanding friendship between Belize and Nicaragua and explored opportunities to deepen bilateral collaboration in areas of mutual interest.  The Ministry says the meetings reflect Belize’s ongoing commitment to strengthening diplomatic ties across the region and advancing partnerships that bring economic and social benefits to the people of Belize.
