Belize Takes Lead on Global Treaty to Protect International Waters

Belize is taking a leading role in global efforts to protect marine life beyond national borders. As the first CARICOM country to ratify the Biodiversity Beyond National Jurisdiction Agreement (BNJA), Belize is now hosting discussions on how the landmark United Nations treaty will be implemented. The agreement seeks to protect biodiversity in international waters while promoting scientific cooperation and the fair sharing of marine resources. Reporter Paul Diaz reports.
