Guatemalan authorities have confirmed the detention of 25-year-old, Gian Eldred Waigth, a Belizean citizen wanted on a murder warrant issued by the Belize Police Department. Waight was intercepted at La Aurora International Airport during a layover over the weekend. According to officials, immediate coordination with INTERPOL Belize has been initiated to facilitate his return to face charges. Waight is one of four other fugitives captured within twelve hours in the region. Love News understands that Mexican national Pascual Zenteno Juárez was arrested in Ixcan Playa Grande, Quiché, after authorities confirmed he has an active arrest warrant in Mexico for qualified homicide. Guatemalan national Elmer Antonio Pancan Barrios, known by the alias “El Chepio”, was captured in Zone 4 of Santa Cruz El Quiché. He is wanted by U.S. authorities for major narcotics offenses, including, conspiracy to manufacture and distribute cocaine for export to the United States and manufacturing and distributing more than five kilograms of cocaine. The fourth arrest is that of Honduran citizen Benjamin Muñoz Ordóñez who was detained in Puerto Barrios, Izabal, Guatemala. He is wanted in Honduras for theft, and authorities are preparing to transfer him back to his home country. Officials report that all four cases are already under active coordination with INTERPOL, with each detainee set for expedited transfer to their respective jurisdictions.
