Belizean Youth Shine at UN Ocean Conference With Powerful Marine Art Display

Belizean youth are making a significant splash at the 2025 United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC) in Nice, France, as Itz’at STEAM Academy proudly represents the nation with their innovative ocean art piece and passionate advocacy for marine conservation. The delegation arrived in Nice for the conference, to connect with global partners and highlight the transformative power of youth engagement in ocean stewardship. Itz’at STEAM Academy is featuring their remarkable ocean art piece, a creation by their talented students, at TIDAL SHIFTS. This official off-site side event, co-hosted by neo_vogelart_lab, is a vibrant celebration of ocean science, sound, art, and community action. The artwork serves as a powerful visual representation of the students’ commitment to understanding and protecting the marine environment.  The initiative underscores a critical shift from global thinking to global action, directly advancing Challenge 10 of the UN Ocean Decade and contributing to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 14: Life Below Water.  The journey to Nice was made possible through the invaluable support of Itz’at’s parents, students, and the National Institute of Culture and History (NICH) of Belize.
