Police are investigating another fatal road traffic accident that claimed the life of a Belmopan businessman on Sunday afternoon. At approximately 2:05 p.m. on June 7, police responded to reports of a fatal traffic accident between Miles 21 and 22 on the George Price Highway.
Upon arrival, officers observed a gray Ford EcoSport on the left side of the highway in the direction of Belize City. A short distance away, approximately forty-three feet from the vehicle, police discovered the body of a man lying face down on the roadside. The deceased was later identified as twenty-nine-year-old Jinlong Wu, a Belizean-Chinese businessman of Belmopan City. According to Police, the vehicle was found to be registered to a resident of Lord’s Bank Village.

Stacy Smith, Assistant Superintendent of Police: “What has been learned so far in the course of this investigation is that Wu was traveling alone in the Eco Sport when upon reaching Mile 21 he lost control of the vehicle which caused the vehicle to overturn multiple times and for him to be flung therefrom.”
Wu’s body was taken to the morgue for a post-mortem examination./
