Belmopan Set for Biggest Christmas Tree Lighting Yet

The Christmas spirit is taking over the capital as Belmopan prepares to switch-on its biggest and brightest holiday celebration yet. Residents who enjoyed last year’s ceremony are in for an even more spectacular treat this Saturday, as it promises to be twice as magical. Public Relations Officer in the Belmopan City Council JB Wade says this year’s Christmas tree is larger and more dazzling than the one that lit up the capital in 2024. The festivities will begin at 6 p.m., welcoming families, friends, and visitors to an evening filled with holiday music, warm lights, and community cheer. Adding to the excitement is a lively night market, where artisans, small businesses, and festive food vendors will bring the magic of the season to life. Love FM’s Belmopan Correspondent LJay Wade was in the park earlier today as workmen erected the decorations.

As anticipation builds, JB Wade reiterated that the Christmas tree isn’t the only highlight of the night. Without giving away details, he teased that a surprise awaits the people of Belmopan, promising an extra touch of holiday magic to close out the evening./
