Jamaica’s Benjamin Davis swimming for Mount Kelly in the United Kingdom, had a good start to the 2025 calendar year at the recent Arena Lisbon International meet in Portugal.
The Former Cornwall College Standout set personal bests in the 50 metre freestyle of 24.62 seconds and the 100 metre freestyle with 54.76 seconds.
That puts him first and third respectively for the CARIFTA 15-17 rankings.
Davis swam a season best 2:04.50 in the 200 metre freestyle and swam 1:10.69 in the 100 metre breaststroke to equal his personal best set in Jamaica at last year’s Christmas Open.
The highlight of the meet was the gold medal he won as a member of the 4-by-100 metre freestyle relay team he swam a third leg split of 52.89 seconds as Mount Kelly won in 3:27.50.
This was Davis’ first time competing in Portugal.
