Benque Viejo Vendor Stalls Fully Occupied, Boosting Local Economy

The town of Benque Viejo del Carmen is already seeing tangible returns from a small but impactful municipal investment. Twelve vendor stalls constructed adjacent to the Marshalleck Stadium are now fully occupied, generating new revenue for the town council and strengthening the local commercial sector.  Mayor Jorge Rosales told Love News that the initiative has helped create opportunities for small vendors while improving economic activity around the stadium area. According to the mayor, the steady occupancy of the stalls confirms that there was strong demand for structured vending space in the municipality.  The mayor explained that the idea for the vendor stalls emerged early last year, after the council’s caucus met at the start of 2025 and agreed to explore practical ways to boost local economic activity. That decision, he said, has since proven to be a successful one.  Rosales also revealed that the success of the project is attracting wider business interest, noting that Country Foods is exploring the possibility of opening an outlet in Benque Viejo del Carmen, an expansion that could further stimulate jobs and commerce in the town.

Mayor Rosales notes that the vendor-stall project reflects a broader push by the council to support entrepreneurship and create sustainable revenue streams.
