At 12:28 a.m. on Sunday, to thunderous applause, screams, and the sounds of vuvuzelas, Dr Beres Hammond and the Harmony House band took the stage at Intimate at Plantation Cove in St Ann. A sea of cellphones held in the air by the thousands packed inside the venue captured the memorable moment.

Opening with Rise & Shine, the beloved Chairman of the Board quickly segued into many favourites from his catalogue, like What One Dance Can Do and She Loves Me Now.

"We did it again. It shows that we love the beautiful things in life. Let me thank you before I go any further," the reggae legend said, to applause.

"Yes ... we nuh do ghetto show!" an ardent fan shouted.

Hammond was in a good mood and it showed. Tempted to Touch followed after which his backing vocalists dropped in a solo piece. And, the outfits of the five young ladies must be mentioned. Coordinating in pin stripes, they sizzled.

Telling the crowd that he started out singing ballads, the legendary Hammond soothed with One Step Ahead.
