Can’t Stop A Man: The Ultimate Collection by Beres Hammond is now Certified Silver int he UK for sales sand streams surpassing 60,000 album units.

The award was given on April 10, 2026, 23 years afters in release.

Spawning 39-tracks, the compilation highlights the depth and longevity of one of reggae’s most beloved voices, blending lovers rock, roots reggae, and dancehall into a timeless body of work.

It features some of his most recognizable hits, including:

  • “Tempted to Touch”
  • “Putting Up Resistance”
  • “Rockaway”
  • “What One Dance Can Do”
  • “Groovy Little Thing”
  • “Full Attention”

“She Loves Me Now,” track six, peaked at No. 92 on the UK Singles Chart, one of only two Beres Hammond career charting singles.

Tracks like “Can’t Stop A Man,” “Step Aside,” and “Double Trouble” highlight his ability to move seamlessly between romantic ballads and socially conscious themes.

Hammond who hails from Annotto Bay, St. Mary in Jamaica, he has built a career spanning over five decades, becoming a defining figure in reggae music.

He began his musical journey in the early 1970s, first gaining attention through local talent competitions before joining the band Zap Pow in 1975. His transition to a solo career soon followed, producing early hits like “One Step Ahead” and “I’m in Love.” Over time, he developed a signature style blending reggae with soul influences, inspired by artists such as Sam Cooke and Otis Redding.

His breakthrough into international success came in the late 1980s and early 1990s with songs like “What One Dance Can Do” and the widely recognized “Tempted to Touch.” Throughout the 1990s and 2000s, Beres solidified his reputation with multiple hit albums and collaborations, becoming a leading voice in lovers rock.

Beyond music, Beres Hammond has been honored for his contributions to Jamaican culture, receiving the Order of Jamaica. His album One Love, One Life topped the Billboard Reggae Albums chart and earned a Grammy nomination, while later releases like Never Ending continued his chart success.
