US-based Bitmine Immersion Technologies, a crypto company listed on the New York Stock Exchange which also ventured into Caribbean operations, has reported year-end holdings of US$13.2 billion, combining crypto, cash, and strategic investments, which it said makes it one of the largest holders of cypto globally.
“We continue to be the largest ‘fresh money’ buyer of Ethereum (ETH) in the world,” stated Chairman Thomas ‘Tom’ Lee in his statement accompanying the financials. The company’s ethereum holdings represent 3.41 per cent of the global ETH supply. Bitmine held 4.11 million ethereum valued at US$2,948 each, 192 bitcoin (BTC), a US$23-million stake in Eightco Holdings, and US$1 billion in cash as of December 28, 2025.
Lee highlighted the company’s aggressive buying strategy as the company bought an additional US$131-million worth of ETH in the past week.
Bitmine is a US-listed crypto company that has rapidly grown over the years. Founded as a bitcoin mining firm using immersion cooling technology, Bitmine expanded its focus to include Ethereum accumulation, staking, and advisory services for companies seeking bitcoin-denominated revenues.
Bitmine’s stock has become one of the most actively traded in the United States, averaging US$980 million in daily trading volume in late December, ranking among the top 50 most traded stocks. As Lee put it: “Bitmine’s sole focus remains creating stockholder value, achieving this by accretively acquiring ETH per share, optimising yield and income on its ETH holdings, and strategically investing the balance sheet on ‘moonshots’.”
Crypto markets also saw strong gains in 2025. Bitcoin started 2025 at US$96,900 and closed the year at roughly US$87,852; it however went as high as US$126,200. Ethereum opened 2025 at around US$3,430 and ended the year at US$2,980. It however went as high as US$4,950. Both nearly doubled from 2025 lows to highs.
In 2021, Bitmine entered into an agreement with an entity in Trinidad and Tobago to co-locate up to 125 800 kW containers for hosting miners over 93 potential locations. The status of that venture was not immediately known to print.
