Acclaimed playwright, director and actress Dahlia Harris returns to the stage with her latest theatrical production, Bloodlies, a gripping family drama that promises to leave audiences breathless. The much-anticipated play will open on Friday, June 13, at the Little Little Theatre in Kingston.

Bloodlies explores the tangled web of secrets, sacrifice, and betrayal that threatens to tear a family apart. Set in a modest New York apartment, the drama unfolds in the wake of a husband’s funeral, when long-held truths come to light, forcing a grieving widow, her brother-in-law, and his wife to confront the past – and each other.

The production stars Dahlia Harris, Earle Brown, and Maria Walters, three of Jamaica’s best, whose powerful portrayals will bring the emotional intensity and psychological complexity of the play to life.

“This is a story about what happens when the truth is no longer buried,” Harris shared. “It’s about love, loss, and how far people are willing to go to protect the ones they claim to love.”

The production also marks the long-awaited return to the stage of Maria Walters, known for her stirring performances and emotional range.

“It’s a joy to be back doing what I love,” said Walters. “This role challenges me in unexpected ways, and I’m honoured to be part of such a powerful story.”

Veteran actor Earle Brown, celebrating more than 40 years in Jamaican theatre, brings depth and gravitas to a pivotal role in the production.

Bloodlies stands out for its honesty and emotional punch. It’s the kind of theatre that reminds you why we tell stories in the first place,” Brown stated.

With her signature blend of riveting storytelling and authentic Jamaican voice, Harris continues to shine a spotlight on the emotional realities of family life, while captivating audiences with unexpected twists and unforgettable characters.

Bloodlies is produced by DMH Productions, the award-winning company fresh from 9 awards from 18 nominations at the recent Actor Boy Awards. The play runs for a limited season, with performances scheduled for Wednesday to Friday at 8 p.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. Benefit partnerships are still available.
