Humes’ death adds to a growing list of recent cases that have raised serious public concern. Since April 10, Love News has reported on the discovery of eighteen-year-old Jahleil Westby in the Port Loyola area, followed by 17-year-old Alwin Marin Junior, whose body was found in the same vicinity on April 16. Today, authorities also confirmed the discovery of 23-year-old Steve Lewis Junior in Silk Grass Village, Stann Creek District.  The missing case of Lewis Junior took another turn today when his body was found.  Reports are that Lewis who had been reported missing for the past two days, was found in a creek along a farm road off the Southern Highway in the Silk Grass Village, Stann Creek District.  Initial information suggests that Lewis had gone to make a delivery in that village but was not heard from afterward, prompting concern among family members and the wider community. A search effort was launched from Dangriga, involving relatives, friends, and members of his fraternity, before expanding into nearby areas with the assistance of police and other authorities.  Up until late last night, there had been no sign of him. However, this morning’s discovery brought a somber end to the search.  Love News spoke with the victim’s aunt, Lovina Lewis, earlier today, who made an emotional appeal as the family awaits answers.

Lovina Luis, Aunt of Deceased: “I’m here at the crime scene where we recently located the body of my nephew Steve Jr east to the BTL Tower about a mile in from the BTL Tower off the Southern Highway. He is 23 years old, a father of one.”

Reporter: Tell us when you realized he went missing.

Lovina Luis, Aunt of Deceased:  “We got information about 7pm on Tuesday night that he went missing from the morning from that same Tuesday morning.”

Reporter: What kind of work does he do ?

Lovina Luis, Aunt of Deceased:He’s a delivery guy, that’s what he does. He delivers, whatever errands people want him to do he would drop off people maybe at work spot or whatever so that’s what does for a living. His last delivery I got to understand that someone asked him to drop them off at Silk Grass Farm and that was the last information his family, our family knows exactly what happened .”

Reporter: That’s from what point to what point ?

Lovina Luis, Aunt of Deceased: “From Dangriga to Silk Grass Farm. He was a humble guy, respectable, mannerly, friendly, cool, easy going. I had never heard of him getting into any situation with anyone so I don’ think he has any enemies. I think what they did was chance him out of his life and took advantage of him.”

Reporter: Did he work for himself ?

Lovina Luis, Aunt of Deceased:  “Yes he worked for himself.”

Reporter: Did he complain about anybody trying to hurt him ?

Lovina Luis, Aunt of Deceased:  “Not that I know of.”

Police have since launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death. At this time, details remain limited, including the cause of death.
