Boldon Tips Kishane Thompson as Early Favourite for Tokyo Gold

Former Trinidad and Tobago sprinter turned broadcaster, Ato Boldon, admits Jamaica’s Kishane Thompson is the early favourite to win the men’s 100-metres final at the Tokyo World Championships in September.

Thompson is the world leader in the event with a time of 9.75 seconds set at the Jamaica National Senior Championships earlier this year.

He followed that up with a 9.85 seconds run to win at the Eugene Diamond League.

Speaking on CBS Sports, Boldon says at this point of the season Thompson is the man to beat.

He says Thompson’s only disadvantage is inexperience.

As for the women’s final, Boldon says it will be difficult for Sha’Carri Richardson to defend her title.
