BTB Launches Online “Belize Specialist” Training for Travel Advisors

The Belize Tourism Board has launched a new online training programme aimed at helping travel professionals better promote Belize to international visitors.  The Belize Specialist Programme provides travel advisors with information about the country’s attractions, culture, geography, air connections and tourism products. It consists of four interactive modules, each taking approximately thirty minutes to complete. Travel advisors who finish the programme will become certified Belize Travel Specialists. They will also gain access to marketing materials, destination photographs, sample itineraries and quarterly industry updates to help them develop travel packages for their clients.  As an added incentive, advisors who complete the training during the launch period will be entered into a drawing for a familiarization trip to Belize, including international airfare. These trips allow travel professionals to experience the destination firsthand and recommend it to visitors.  The initiative forms part of the Tourism Board’s efforts to strengthen Belize’s presence in the international travel market and attract visitors interested in the country’s marine attractions, Maya heritage, wildlife and cultural experiences.
