BTB Launches Search for Belize’s Top Chefs and Bartenders

The Belize Tourism Board is organizing its annual culinary and bartending competition known as Taste of Belize, an event that highlights local talent within the country’s hospitality sector. The competition is one of BTB’s signature events and is designed to identify top chefs and bartenders from across Belize. It typically features categories such as Master Chef of the Year, Junior Chef of the Year, Pastry Chef of the Year, and Bartender of the Year. Participants compete in timed challenges and are judged on skill, creativity, presentation, and the use of local ingredients. The event also serves as a platform for professional development within the tourism and hospitality industry. Winners often go on to represent Belize in regional culinary competitions, including at the Caribbean level. It forms part of BTB’s wider efforts to support tourism training and promote Belizean cuisine as part of the country’s cultural identity, through ongoing initiatives focused on capacity building and industry development. Representatives from the Belize Tourism Board appeared on Love FM’s morning show today, where they shared details about the upcoming event.

This year’s edition is expected to follow a similar format of competitive culinary and bartending challenges, although full participant lists and schedules are typically released closer to the event date. The one-day event will be held in Belize City, with the exact location still to be confirmed. Organizers say details will be announced on their official platforms in early August.
