In other news, the Belize Telemedia Limited (BTL) is inviting former employees who believe they qualify for severance under Section 183 of the Labour Act to come forward and submit their information for review. In a public notice issued by the company, BTL encouraged eligible former workers to email their details to severance@livedigi.com, where each submission will be carefully assessed. The company stated that once the statutory criteria outlined in Section 183 of the Labour Act are met, severance payments will be made along with interest calculated at six percent per annum. That interest will run from November 5, 2025, the date of the Caribbean Court of Justice judgment in Erven Marin et al v Belize Telemedia Limited, up to the date of payment. BTL also committed that once an applicant’s eligibility is confirmed, payment will be processed within fifteen working days. The notice forms part of the company’s ongoing effort to address outstanding severance matters following the landmark CCJ ruling.
