Bullet Tree Falls Man Arrested After Suspected Crack Cocaine Found

A routine police patrol in Bullet Tree Falls Village, Cayo District, resulted in the arrest of 37-year-old Santoz Ramirez. According to police, the incident occurred on July 16 while officers were conducting mobile patrols in the village. Police say Ramirez’ person was searched which yielded a plastic bag containing suspected crack cocaine.  ASP Stacy Smith spoke on the process that followed.

Stacy Smith, Assistant Superintendent of Police: “Police have formally arrested and charged 37-year-old Santos Ramirez of Bullet Tree Falls Village for the offense of possession of control drugs with intent to supply. The arresting officer reported that on 16 July, 2026, he was on patrol in Bullet Tree Falls Village when his attention was drawn to Santos whose conduct arose that officer’s suspicion. Mr. Santos was detained and searched and a search of his person resulted in the discovery of bag containing suspected crack cocaine which when weighed amounted to 9.2 grams.”

A 37-year-old man is facing ammunition-related charges after he was found with several rounds of ammunition.  Police in San Ignacio/Santa Elena say Simon Bakeman was charged after a search at his residence yielded four rounds of 9-millimeter ammunition. Assistant Superintendent of Police, Stacy Smith, provided further details on the matter.


Stacy Smith, Assistant Superintendent of Police: “Police have formally arrested and charged 37-year-old Simon Bateman of Santa Elena Town, Cayo for the offense of kept ammunition without a gun license. The arrest of Bateman follows the execution of an intelligence-led operation at the residence of Bateman on Friday, 17 July for illegal firearm and ammunition. A search on Bateman’s person resulted in the discovery of four rounds of 9-millimeter ammunition and given that he is not the holder of a gun license he was subsequently charged for kept ammunition without being the holder of a gun license.”
