Bullet Tree Road Collision Claims Life of 31-Year-Old Man in Early Morning Crash

Police in the Cayo District are investigating a fatal road traffic incident that occurred early this morning along Bullet Tree Road, which claimed the life of a 31-year-old man.  Just after one o’clock, officers from the San Ignacio Police Station responded to the call and found that emergency medical technicians from Santa Elena Town were already on the scene.  Efforts to save the life of the Bullet Tree villager, 31-year-old, Mark Bull, were fruitless as the security guard died on the scene.  According to Police, Bul was found lying down inside the ambulance and was being attended to by an EMT who reported that at approximately 12:58 a.m., Bul lost his pulse. A subsequent examination revealed that the deceased had sustained injuries to the back of his head.  Police further reported that about a quarter mile from the location of the body, a red Toyota 4Runner was found with extensive damage to the front right fender, as well as damage to the right bumper and right headlight.  Initial investigations indicate that the vehicle was being driven by 45-year-old Julio Cesar Valdez, a paralegal of San Ignacio Town, who was reportedly traveling in the direction of Bullet Tree Village at the time of the incident.  The red Toyota 4Runner has been impounded at the San Ignacio Police Station, where a motor vehicle inspection will be conducted.
