Bulridge and BDF Join Forces to Reforest Mountain Pine Ridge

The Greening Belize campaign continues to take root across the country, with Bulridge Limited becoming one of the latest private-sector partners to support the national environmental initiative.  The company has partnered with the Belize Defence Force to help restore degraded sections of the Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve. As part of the collaboration, Bulridge representatives and BDF soldiers participated in a tree-planting exercise focused on reforestation and restoring the area’s natural ecosystem.  The activity also provided soldiers with an opportunity to support national conservation efforts beyond their traditional responsibility of protecting Belize’s borders. Research and Monitoring Officer Roni Martinez spoke about the importance of the forestry and environmental initiative.

The partnership forms part of the wider Greening Belize programme, which brings together public and private sector organizations to improve forest health, protect biodiversity and strengthen the country’s resilience to climate change.  Organizers say restoring critical forest areas can help protect water resources, preserve wildlife habitats and ensure healthier ecosystems for future generations. Martinez says proper management and strong partnerships must work hand in hand for restoration efforts to succeed.
