Reggae-dancehall artiste Bunny General is at home recuperating after he suffered a health scare last week when he experienced ‘heart failure’ and had to be revived by doctors at the Medical Associates Hospital in St. Andrew.
“I am still taking medication, it was kinda scary. I was at home when it happened, I was conscious through the whole thing, cracking jokes with the doctors while they restarted my heart,” he said.
He said that for weeks, he had been feeling a ‘heaviness in his chest’, but ignored it.
“There were no major warning signs that something was wrong,” he said.
Last week, Bunny General shared a video of himself in a hospital bed, hooked up to an ECG machine. He said he didn’t know what was happening in the world and queried why “from wah day ya everybody just a get sick”.
The minute-long video ended with the veteran entertainer giving thanks for life while sharing his faith in God’s ability to work things out for him.
“I have some upcoming shows at venues in the Caribbean so this episode won’t affect my ability to perform,” he said.
Bunny General is known for songs such as Full Up a Class and Love Reggae Music Bad among others.
