Burrell Boom Resident Reports Burglary After Tools Stolen from Home

A Burrell Boom resident is reporting a burglary after thieves broke into his home and made off with electrical tools valued at approximately one thousand dollars.  Police say that on Friday, officers attached to the Belize Police Department in Burrell Boom responded to information regarding a burglary in the Tigre Creek area of the village.  Upon arrival at the location, police met with 43-year-old Michael Thompson, a Belizean security guard who reported that his 32 x 20 foot grey cement bungalow home had been burglarized earlier that day.  Thompson told investigators that sometime between 8am and 5:30 p.m. on March 13, unknown persons entered his residence and stole assorted electrical tools from inside the house. The items are estimated to be valued at around one thousand Belize dollars.  Police say Thompson indicated that he did not authorize anyone to enter his home or remove the items.  Scenes of Crime personnel later visited the location where the scene was photographed and processed. Investigators determined that entry into the home was gained by removing the glass louvers from a window on the southern side of the building.  The burglary remains under investigation by Burrell Boom police.
