Businessman Danny Guerra shot dead in Sangre Grande

Businessman and alleged illegal quarry operator Danny Guerra was shot dead during an attack on Oropouche Road in Sangre Grande a short while ago.

Police sources said Guerra was at one of his offices when four masked gunmen opened fire.

The attack occurred around 5.30 pm.

Officers from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service, including personnel from the Eastern Division and the Sangre Grande Police Station, responded and are currently processing the scene.

Further details about the circumstances surrounding the killing remain unclear. Police investigations are ongoing.

Guerra had previously come under scrutiny during the previous State of Emergency. In November 2025, he was arrested under emergency powers by the Special Investigations Unit on allegations that he led an organised crime group involved in arms trafficking, money laundering and illegal quarrying.
