Phoenix Academy boss, Craig Butler, has now become part-owner of Jamaica Premier League (JPL) club, Vere United.
Professional Football Jamaica Ltd Chief Executive Officer, Owen Hill, made the announcement during a ceremony in Clarendon recently, calling it a booster shot for the JPL.
Lothian Cousins, president of Vere United, now to be called Vere Phoenix, said Clarendon was the Mecca of football talent but that there has not been good enough transition to the national and international level, and that Phoenix Academy, would help to bridge that gap.
Butler says he intends to create longevity and success, not just for Vere, but for Clarendon in totality.
