BZR WKND Jamaica has suspended ticket sales until further notice, deepening uncertainty over the festival following the withdrawal of headliner Cardi B.
A notice posted on the event’s website cited “circumstances beyond our control” but offered no further explanation for the suspension.
“Due to circumstances beyond our control, we regret to inform you that ticket sales have been suspended until further notice,” the notice stated.
The development comes after Cardi B announced that she would no longer perform at the festival, which is scheduled for October 18 and 19 at Kingston’s National Stadium.
The suspension has left prospective patrons waiting for clarity on the event’s future, while the notice has provided no information about what will happen to tickets already purchased.
Cardi, meanwhile, has apologised to her Jamaican fans, insisting that she made repeated efforts to ensure her performance went ahead before deciding to pull out.
In a video posted online, the rapper also rejected speculation that poor ticket sales were behind her withdrawal, claiming she had heard that more than 18,000 tickets had been sold.
“For the haters, not the Jamaicans, but for the haters talking about little ticket sales, it was never that,” she said.
The Bodak Yellow artiste said she could not disclose the details surrounding the cancellation because of contractual restrictions, but insisted that the situation was beyond her control.
“However, ooh, I can't talk. I can't talk due to contracts. But just know, it wasn't me,” she said.
Organisers have not provided further details explaining the suspension of ticket sales or confirmed what the latest development means for the festival.
With the event dates approaching, fans are now awaiting answers on whether BZR WKND will proceed as planned and what arrangements will be made for ticket holders.
