Caribbean sides keep rolling in Concacaf Nations League Group A

MIAMI, Florida — It was a perfect Sunday for the Caribbean in Group A of the 2026/2027 Concacaf Nations League, as Haiti, Curaçao and the Dominican Republic each continued their winning ways in League A.

At Sabina Park in Kingston, Jamaica, Haiti opened the day with a 2-0 victory over Costa Rica. Jean-Ricner Bellegarde put Haiti ahead in the 9th minute, firing a right-footed shot past the Costa Rica defence.

Francisco Calvo’s own goal in the 39th minute doubled the lead and secured the win for Haiti.

Curaçao followed with a dominant 6-1 rout of Nicaragua at Stadion Ergilio Hato in Willemstad. Livano Comenencia opened the scoring in the 6th minute with a right-footed strike from outside the box.

Kenji Gorré made it 2-0 in the 11th, Leandro Bacuna headed in a corner in the 19th, and Juninho Bacuna added a fourth in the 27th.

Gorré then completed his brace with a right-footed shot from inside the area to make it 5-0.

Nicaragua pulled one back in the 62nd minute when Jaime Moreno volleyed home with his left foot from outside the box. Jürgen Locadia closed the scoring in the 88th, sealing Curaçao’s second Group A win.

In Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago, the Dominican Republic completed a 2-1 comeback against Trinidad & Tobago at Hasely Crawford Stadium.

Daniel Phillips gave the Soca Warriors the lead in the 37th minute with a right-footed strike from the edge of the box.

Heinz Mörschel levelled for the Dominican Republic in the 42nd with a long-range right-footed shot, and Mariano Díaz completed the turnaround in the 50th with a right-footed finish.

With the wins, Haiti, Curaçao and the Dominican Republic all maintained their strong starts in Group A.
