Regional heads are expected to focus their attention, at CARICOM’s 49th Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government, on improving regional security, enhancing food and nutrition security, and combating climate change.
The announcement was made by CARICOM Secretary-General Dr Carla Barnett on Thursday.
The 49th Regular Meeting is set for July 6 to 8 in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness, who assumes the six-month rotating chairmanship of the community on July 1, will chair the proceedings.
According to a CARICOM statement, the discussions will be held under the theme “People, Partnerships, Prosperity: Promoting a Secure and Sustainable Future.”
