Jamaica’s Marla-Kay Lampart says she’ll have no time to celebrate her achievement at the recent Carifta Championships as she gets ready to represent her school at the Penn Relays, from April 24-26.
The Clarendon College standout won the girls’ under-20 shot put gold in a personal-best and meet record 17.44 metres. Her exploits shattered the 23-year-old record of 15.57 metres set by Cludio Vileneuve of Martinique in 2002.
Lampart also picked up a bronze in the under-20 discus.
