Carmelita Resident Charged After Allegedly Stealing Friend’s SUV in Belize City

Yesterday, Belize city Police formally arrested and charged Andrew Jenkins,22, a resident of Carmelita Village in the Orange Walk District for theft. Police say that on October 7, Raybert Tevin Laing was hanging out with Jesus Montejo at his Belize City home, along with Andrew Jenkins, when around 11:30 p.m., Jenkins asked to use Laing’s restroom, indicating that he needed to leave shortly after. Laing, deeming Jenkins suspicious, immediately went to inspect his house and that’s when he noticed that the keys to his black 2010 Infinity SUV were missing. The shocking discovery led Laing to the Crime Investigation Branch where he made a report to the police explaining that he did not give Jenkins permission to use his vehicle.
