The long-standing concern over access to newly distributed residential lots in Cattle Landing Village in the Toledo District could begin to see movement as early as next month. That’s the reassurance coming from village leadership amid growing frustration from beneficiaries who say they still cannot locate, identify, or access the parcels assigned to them. More than four hundred residential lots were distributed, but recipients report that the area remains without clear markings, access roads, or supporting infrastructure. While earlier delays were blamed on heavy rains and waterlogged terrain, residents say the problem has persisted into the dry season. Senior Correspondent Paul Mahung spoke with Cattle Landing Village Chairman Earl Bowden, who acknowledged the situation and provided an update.
Chairman Bowden indicated that the area representative is expected to formally address the matter within the next few weeks, with discussions already planned at the village level. Of the more than four hundred lots distributed, one hundred were allocated to Cattle Landing residents, while the remaining parcels went to members of the wider public sector, including teachers, doctors, and police officers.
