Jamaica and Caribbean Cup champions Cavalier were beaten 2-0 by MLS campaigners Inter Miami in Florida on Thursday in the first leg of their Concacaf Champions Cup round of 16 game.
Tadeo Allende gave Inter Miami the lead on 61 minutes before Uruguayan legend Luiz Squarez bagged the second in the 83rd minute.
Inter Miami rested Lionel Messi for the game.
The teams will meet in Kingston next Thursday in the second leg at National Stadium starting at 8 pm.
The winners on aggregate over the two legs will advance to the quarter-finals.
