Caribbean Cup champions, Cavalier Football Club, face the daunting task of finding two goals against their more established Champions Cup competitors, Inter Miami after losing by that margin at the Chase Stadium earlier tonight.
Cavalier stayed with their more esteemed opponents in the first leg of the competition’s round-of-16 for 60 minutes until Tadeo Allende (61st) opened the scoring after a seemingly innocuous looping header bobbled off the bar but didn’t go out.
Luis Suarez, after a juggling act, centred the deflection before a scrambled put-back from Sergio Busquets landed at the feet of Allende to sweep home.
Suarez would continue to look for the merest of slips and when King stretched to clear a ball that slid off his boot and fell to Suarez in the 83rd minute, the wiley forward made no mistake.
Cavalier will welcome Inter for the second leg at the National Stadium on March 13.
