Technical director of defending Jamaica Premier League outfit Cavalier Soccer Club, Rudolph Speid, describes former captain Richard King as the ‘consummate professional’.
The 23-year-old centre back conducted his first training session with his Scotland-based club Saint Mirren this week after guiding Cavalier to back-to-back titles in the local premier league.
King previously had a short stint with Iceland-based club IBV where he featured in 17 matches whilst netting goals on two occasions.
According to Speid, King’s composure on the ball made him a stood out among his peers during his time in the Jamaica Premier League and suggested that St Mirren has a similar playing style compared to Cavalier.
Cavalier is known for it’s high turnover of players and with the departure of King, Coach Speid believes that while a void is left in the defensive line, he’s already identified a few players who can step up to the plate.
