Cayo Man Accused of Raping Stepdaughter Since Preschool

A 47-year-old man of the Cayo District has been detained by Police on Monday pending multiple counts of an incest charge.  The construction worker is being accused of having unlawful sexual intercourse with his stepdaughter and getting her pregnant on three occasions.  The victim, who is now 16 years old, reported to police in May of this year, that her stepfather has been raping her since she was attending preschool right up until May 26.  She indicated that the incident occurred too many times that she had lost count.  She also reported to police that she had gotten pregnant in March 2025 and again in February 2026, and that both pregnancies were terminated via medication given to her by her mother.  Upon making the report some three months ago, a medical examination confirmed that she was again pregnant.  The young girl told the investigators that she has only been carnally known by her stepfather.  The stepfather was detained on Monday while the child has been referred for counselling services.
