Founder and Executive Chairman of the Caribbean Community of Retired Persons, CCRP, Jean Lowrie-Chin, has commended both the JLP and the PNP, for including policies targeting senior citizens in their election manifestos.
The JLP has pledged to introduce significant tax breaks for seniors if it forms the next government.
Lowrie-Chin welcomes the proposal.
The PNP, in its manifesto, has promised to expand and strengthen community-based programmes to support the daily needs and well-being of older persons.
Meanwhile, Lowrie-Chin is calling for closed captioning to be included in the ongoing national debates to assist elderly citizens who are hard of hearing.
